Boeing Completes 737 MAX 10 Certification Flights
Boeing has announced the completion of certification flight testing for the 737 MAX 10, the largest member of the 737 MAX family. The company aims to secure certification for both the 737 MAX 10 and 737 MAX 7 by the end of 2026, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027.
As part of the certification programme, three test aircraft completed a total of 976 flights, logging more than 2,060 flight hours and approximately 1,040 hours of ground testing. The final certification flight evaluated passenger cabin equipment, including smoke detectors and the cabin announcement system.
Key elements of the programme included a new anti-icing system developed for the CFM LEAP-1B engines and an enhanced angle-of-attack system, known as EAOA. Boeing said the EAOA system is designed to reduce the risk of false alerts and present flight information to crews in a clearer and more simplified format.
The company said both systems will be integrated into all newly built 737 MAX aircraft and later introduced to aircraft already in service through future modifications.
