Boeing 777X Flies to Bolivia for High-Altitude Testing

A Boeing 777-9 test aircraft, registered as N779XY and operating under the 777X flight test program, has flown from Seattle, United States, to Sucre, Bolivia, to evaluate the aircraft’s performance in high-altitude conditions.
Operating under flight number BOE003, the test aircraft is scheduled to undergo high-altitude takeoff and landing tests at Alcantarí International Airport, situated at an elevation of approximately 3,104 meters (10,184 feet). The test campaign aims to assess the effects of low air density on the aircraft’s takeoff and landing performance.
During its flight to Bolivia, the aircraft crossed the Equator into the Southern Hemisphere. This marks the first time a Boeing 777-9 has crossed the Equator and operated in the Southern Hemisphere as part of the 777X flight test program.
The trials form part of the broader flight test program designed to validate the Boeing 777X’s operational capabilities across diverse geographic and atmospheric environments.
