Boeing Delivered 60 Aircraft in May

Boeing has released its May 2026 delivery and order figures, reporting a total of 60 aircraft deliveries during the month. The result marks Boeing’s strongest monthly delivery performance of the year, with 51 of the delivered aircraft being 737 MAX jets.

The manufacturer noted that deliveries increased significantly following the handover of aircraft that had previously been delayed due to damaged wiring issues. According to reports, approximately 25 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft had been affected by the technical problem. On May 27, 2026, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg stated that, with approval from the FAA, 737 production had been increased to a rate of 47 aircraft per month and that the production system had entered a stabilization phase at that level.

With the latest figures, Boeing’s total deliveries for the year reached 250 aircraft. However, the company remained behind rival Airbus, which delivered 262 aircraft during the same period.

Among the largest recipients of Boeing deliveries in May were Southwest Airlines with seven aircraft, SMBC Aviation Capital with six aircraft, and both United Airlines and Virgin Australia with four aircraft each.

On the order side, Lufthansa placed an order for ten Boeing 787-9 aircraft, while TUI Group ordered one Boeing 737 MAX. An undisclosed customer also placed an order for two additional 737 MAX aircraft.
