United Pilot Orders Pizza for Passengers After Delay

A United Airlines flight operating from San Francisco to Houston was forced to divert to Albuquerque, New Mexico, due to a medical emergency on board. While passengers waited at the gate for hours as a new cabin crew was arranged, around 150 passengers were given $15 meal vouchers, but many food outlets in the terminal had already closed by then.

➡️ According to passengers, the flight’s captain ordered 30 large pizzas from a local business and had them delivered to the gate during the delay. Reports said the captain also personally helped distribute the pizzas and only took a slice after making sure all passengers had been served.

➡️ In a statement on the incident, United Airlines said the flight diverted due to a passenger’s medical condition and that efforts were underway to get passengers to Houston. The airline also said it appreciated the pilot for going the extra mile for passengers.
