Passenger Buys Business Class Ticket, Gets Downgraded to Economy

A passenger who purchased a Business Class ticket with Etihad Airways was downgraded to Economy Class due to overbooking. The passenger’s reservation was changed after the airline was unable to accommodate them in the Business Class cabin because of high demand.

To avoid disrupting the passenger’s travel plans, Etihad Airways rebooked them in Economy Class on the same flight. The airline stated that 75% of the applicable fare would be refunded as compensation for the downgrade.
