Runway at Buenos Aires Ezeiza Airport Limited to 1,850 Metres During Construction

Infrastructure work at Ezeiza International Airport in Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires, is affecting flight operations. The airport is operating with a single runway with a reduced usable length during the 18-day period from October 25 to November 11, 2026.

During this period, all flights are using Runway 11/29. The usable length of the approximately 3,300-metre runway has been reduced to 1,850 metres while Runway 17/35 and its intersection with the main runway undergo renovation. Airfield infrastructure improvements are also being carried out.

The reduced runway length is creating operational restrictions, particularly for long-haul flights operated by widebody aircraft. Some international airlines are suspending services during this period, while others are reducing frequencies, adjusting schedules or adding technical stops for refuelling.

The work forms part of a broader airport infrastructure investment programme worth approximately $110 million.
