NetJets-Operated Business Jet Crashes in Texas

At least one person was killed and five others were injured after a Cessna Citation Latitude business jet operated by NetJets crashed in Laredo, Texas.

The N523QS-registered aircraft was operating a flight from San José del Cabo, Mexico, to Austin, Texas, when it diverted to Laredo. While the reason for the diversion has not yet been confirmed, the Laredo Airport air traffic controller reportedly alerted emergency services that the aircraft was inbound with an unspecified mechanical issue.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. local time. The aircraft crashed onto a highway and collided with a vehicle before catching fire. First responders assisted the occupants in evacuating the burning aircraft.

An investigation into the cause of the accident has been launched.
