Lufthansa Group has exercised existing purchase options to convert 20 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft into firm orders, adding the 737 MAX 10 to its firm order book for the first time.
The new order is part of Lufthansa Group’s plans to renew and expand its narrowbody fleet. The group had previously placed a firm order for 40 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, alongside purchase options for an additional 60 aircraft. With the latest decision, 20 of those options have been exercised for the 737 MAX 10.
The 737 MAX 10 is the largest variant of the 737 MAX family. Details on which Lufthansa Group airline or airlines will operate the aircraft are expected to be announced at a later date.
