Two Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft operated by Brazilian carrier GOL are set to be retired and dismantled for spare parts only months after entering service.
The aircraft, registered PS-GRM and PS-GRN, joined the fleet in late 2025 but were withdrawn from operations in February 2026 following recurring issues with their CFM LEAP-1B engines and reported balance-related problems.
After serving for less than five months, both aircraft were sent to Pinal Airpark in the United States. Due to their limited use, many of their components are expected to be recovered and marketed as premium spare parts.
Contrary to initial claims, the aircraft were built more than 100 production positions apart, suggesting that the issues may not have been linked to a specific production batch but instead to separate technical faults.
