
A Boeing 747-400 cargo aircraft, registered TC-ACF and operated by Turkish cargo airline Air ACT on behalf of Emirates SkyCargo, veered off the runway and crashed into the sea after landing at Hong Kong International Airport.
Two security personnel working near the runway were killed in the accident. Authorities announced that the aircraft’s black boxes have been recovered following ongoing search and recovery operations.
➡️ The Airport Authority Hong Kong confirmed that one of the aircraft’s engines and its landing gear have also been retrieved from the sea. The city’s Transport and Logistics Bureau stated that a preliminary report on the accident will be released within a month.
The investigation is being conducted with the participation of experts from the U.S. and Turkish civil aviation accident investigation agencies, as well as Boeing specialists.
