Another Challenging Month for Airbus: August Deliveries Fall Short of Expectations

European manufacturer Airbus continues to face operational difficulties in 2025. The company delivered 60 aircraft in August, a slight increase compared to the same month last year, but still below the pace required to meet its annual target.
In the first eight months of the year, Airbus delivered a total of 433 aircraft — about 3% lower than planned. The company’s 2025 goal stands at 820 deliveries. To reach this figure, Airbus would need to achieve record-breaking monthly output in the remaining four months, which appears challenging under current conditions.
In 2024, Airbus delivered a total of 766 aircraft. Despite setting higher targets for 2025, ongoing supply chain issues have hindered progress. Delays in engine supplies from Pratt & Whitney and CFM have left nearly completed aircraft waiting for delivery. Additionally, disruptions in seat and fuselage component production have further slowed assembly rates.
Airbus expects that improved engine supply in the second half of the year will allow the backlog of aircraft to be cleared and delivered to customers. However, whether the company will be able to meet its ambitious target of 820 deliveries will become clear in the coming months.
