48 Snakes and 5 Turtles Seized in the Luggage of Passenger Arriving from Thailand
At Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, an Indian national arriving from Thailand was caught by customs officials for carrying 48 poisonous snakes and 5 turtles in his luggage.
It was determined that the snakes, including highly dangerous species such as the spider-tailed viper and the Indonesian pit viper, along with protected Asian leaf turtles, were being smuggled into the country hidden inside the suitcase.
