UAE Places Large Order with Embraer

The UAE’s defense procurement authority, Tawazun Council, has signed a significant agreement with Embraer to enhance its military airlift capabilities. The deal includes 10 firm orders and 10 options, marking the first selection of the Embraer C-390 Millennium in the Middle East.
The agreement was signed by Tawazun Secretary General Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi and Embraer Defense & Security President and CEO Bosco da Costa Jr., in the presence of UAE Vice President Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Embraer CEO Francisco Gomes Neto.
Following a comprehensive evaluation and testing campaign, the C-390 Millennium was selected for its multi-mission capability. The aircraft will support operations such as cargo and troop transport, airdrop missions, medical evacuation, humanitarian assistance, and operations from semi-prepared or unpaved runways.
The agreement also includes the development of in-country Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities and after-sales support in cooperation with a national partner, strengthening the UAE’s long-term operational readiness.
