Boeing has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Libya’s Tripoli-based Government of National Unity to support the development of the country’s civil aviation sector.
The agreement was signed by Libya’s Transport Minister Mohamed Al-Shahoubi and Boeing representatives at the office of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The MoU covers potential aircraft acquisitions, technical cooperation, and infrastructure development. Under the framework, Libya is expected to consider aircraft such as the Boeing 737 MAX for short- and medium-haul routes, and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for long-haul operations.
