Ryanair Introduces New Check-in and Baggage Rules

Ryanair has announced changes to its airport check-in and baggage drop policies, effective from November 2026.

Under the new rules, the closing time for check-in and baggage drop will be extended from 40 minutes to 60 minutes before departure.

The airline stated that the change aims to give passengers more time for security and passport control, while also reducing missed flights caused by congestion at airports. Long queues, particularly due to new European entry-exit systems, were cited as a key factor behind the decision.

The update will directly affect around 20% of passengers who check in baggage, while those traveling with cabin baggage only and using online check-in will see little to no change in their process.
