Istanbul Airport Becomes Europe’s Busiest Airport

Istanbul Airport ranked as Europe’s busiest airport between July 13 and 19, handling an average of 1,623 flights per day.

According to EUROCONTROL’s European Aviation Overview, Istanbul Airport was followed by Amsterdam Schiphol with an average of 1,398 daily flights, Paris Charles de Gaulle with 1,395, London Heathrow with 1,331 and Frankfurt Airport with 1,320.

With these figures, Istanbul Airport recorded the highest level of air traffic in Europe during the week.
