- Today, Istanbul Airport (IGA) welcomed the Airbus A321XLR for the first time. IndiGo, India’s largest airline, has begun flying on the Delhi-Istanbul route using Airbus’s longest-range narrow-body aircraft, the A321XLR.

- Previously, IndiGo operated this route using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft leased from Turkish Airlines. However, due to political reasons, the lease agreement was not extended, and the airline temporarily operated flights to Istanbul via connecting flights in the UAE and Saudi Arabia using A320neo aircraft.

- With the growing number of A321XLRs in its fleet, IndiGo has now started direct flights to Istanbul. The A321XLR aircraft in the fleet has a seating capacity of 195 passengers and features two classes. The range of the aircraft is approximately 8,700 km.
- IndiGo will continue operating its Mumbai-Istanbul flights via Jeddah for the time being.
