Virgin Atlantic Technician Dies Following Heathrow Maintenance Accident

Virgin Atlantic technician Georgie Buxton has died after being injured when heavy equipment collapsed on top of her during maintenance work at London Heathrow Airport.

The 23-year-old had been receiving intensive care for four weeks following the accident, which occurred while maintenance was being carried out on one of the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft inside a hangar.

Virgin Atlantic confirmed the death of Buxton, a member of its engineering team, and said an investigation into the cause of the accident is being conducted in cooperation with the relevant authorities and the aircraft manufacturer.
