American Airlines to Raise $1.14 Billion in Financing

American Airlines is set to secure approximately $1.14 billion in funding through a financing deal backed by aircraft collateral.

According to the company, the proceeds will be used for new aircraft acquisitions, refinancing existing aircraft debt, and general corporate purposes. The plan includes financing 17 new aircraft while restructuring debt tied to 15 existing aircraft.

The airline stated that this move is expected to strengthen its fleet structure and balance its financial obligations more effectively.

Coming at a time when rising fuel costs are putting pressure on the aviation sector, the development is seen as part of American Airlines’ strategy to improve financial flexibility and enhance cash flow.
