A321 and B737 Collide at Santiago Airport

A collision occurred at Santiago International Airport in Chile between a LATAM Airlines Airbus A321 (CC-BEJ) and an Aerolíneas Argentinas Boeing 737 (LV-FVN), causing disruptions to operations for several hours.

According to initial reports, the incident took place while the LATAM aircraft was taxiing for departure to Brazil. The A321 struck the wing of the Aerolíneas Argentinas aircraft, which was stationary on the apron.

Chile’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) confirmed that the collision resulted in minor damage and no injuries.

Following the incident, Aerolíneas Argentinas stated that its Boeing 737 was taken out of service. LATAM also confirmed that the contact occurred during pre-departure taxi and caused damage to the other aircraft’s wing.
