At the 2023 National Business Aviation Association Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, a new U.S.-based “ultra-luxury” airline was unveiled: Magnifica Air. The airline plans to begin operations in 2027, using Airbus A220 and A321neo aircraft — but with an entirely customized configuration featuring only 44 to 54 seats.
The A321neo fleet will include four private suites and a rear lounge area, while the A220s will feature an all–first-class layout with 54 seats. The cabin designs are being developed by Comlux, a Swiss company known for its work on private jet projects for Airbus and Boeing VIP clients.

To secure the aircraft, Air Lease Corporation (ALC) has signed a long-term lease agreement with Magnifica Air, providing four new A220-300s and two A321-200neos for delivery in 2027. The fleet is expected to grow to 25 aircraft by 2031.

Additionally, leasing firm Azorra will deliver two pre-owned A220s — previously operated by EgyptAir — which will become the first aircraft in Magnifica Air’s fleet.
Positioning itself “between private jet and commercial airline,” Magnifica Air describes its mission as follows:
> “Today, passengers have two choices — pay ten times more for a private jet, or settle for the limitations of traditional business class. We offer a third way.”
The new airline promises a private terminal experience, zero queues, gourmet in-flight dining, and what it calls a ‘personal jet experience’ — all at a premium price, with one-way fares starting around $20,000.
Initially, Magnifica Air will operate domestic U.S. routes, including New York, Chicago, Miami, Houston, Dallas, Palm Beach, Los Angeles, and San Jose.
The project is being launched with $150 million in funding from private investment firm CIG Companies and will operate as an extension of the Magnifica luxury hospitality brand, which already manages upscale hotels and residences.
Magnifica Air’s business model follows a “premium boutique airline” approach similar to that of U.S.-based JSX and Maldives-based Beond, offering an exclusive alternative to both private aviation and traditional commercial travel.
