SpaceX Launches May Affect Florida Flights

Passenger flights in Florida may face significant delays in the future. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is reviewing SpaceX’s request to conduct up to 44 Starship-Super Heavy launches and landings per year from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
If approved, these operations could lead to airspace closures lasting up to two hours. According to FAA data, this could result in hundreds of flight delays or cancellations at major airports such as Tampa, Orlando, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale.
Officials have emphasized that the potential impacts could have “significant” consequences for commercial aviation and passenger traffic.
