Kuala Lumpur Named the World’s Most Connected Low-Cost Megahub

Kuala Lumpur International Airport ranked first in the world for low-cost airline connectivity in the Megahubs 2026 report published by aviation data and analytics company OAG. Kuala Lumpur retained its leading position in 2026 after also ranking first last year.

According to OAG data, Kuala Lumpur offers nearly 15,000 potential low-cost connections across 154 destinations. AirAsia accounts for 34 percent of all flights at the airport, while low-cost carriers represent 44 percent of its total capacity.

Seoul Incheon International Airport ranked second, followed by Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport in third place. Of the airports in the Top 25, 16 are located in Asia-Pacific, eight in EMEA and one in North America.
