U.S. to Issue Trump-Themed Passports for 250th Anniversary

The United States is preparing to issue a limited number of specially designed passports to mark the 250th anniversary of its independence. The new passports, featuring a portrait of Donald Trump, are expected to be distributed starting this summer.

According to the U.S. State Department, the design will initially be offered as the default option for applicants applying in person at the Washington Passport Agency. Existing designs will continue to be used for online applications and other locations.

The passport will feature Trump’s portrait and gold-colored signature on the inside cover, while the back cover will include a scene from Declaration of Independence painting by John Trumbull. No changes will be made to the passport’s security features.

Similar uses of Trump’s image have previously appeared on national park passes and commemorative coins. The total number of passports to be issued has not yet been disclosed.
