Two Airports in Saudi Arabia Attacked: 3 Killed, 36 Injured

Two separate attacks targeting Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh left three people dead and 36 injured. The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation stated that the attacks took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, causing material damage at the airports.

Two women, one Moroccan and one Algerian, were killed and 28 people were injured in the attack on Abha International Airport. In the attack targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, one Sudanese national was killed and eight people were injured. The injured were reportedly taken to hospitals.

The Houthis in Yemen claimed responsibility for the attacks targeting the airports in Riyadh and Abha. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed that Riyadh airport was targeted with drones, while Abha Airport was targeted with ballistic missiles and drones. The Saudi-led coalition, meanwhile, stated that a ballistic missile launched toward the Riyadh region had been intercepted and destroyed.
