Boeing has announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2026. The company generated $24.6 billion in revenue and delivered 171 commercial aircraft during the quarter, while its total backlog reached a record $715 billion.
Boeing continued to increase production under the 737 MAX programme and launched the new North Line assembly line at its Everett facility. The company is targeting a monthly production rate of 47 aircraft. Boeing also said certification flight testing for the 737-7 and 737-10 had been completed, with certification expected in 2026 and initial deliveries planned for 2027.
The 777X programme also received FAA approval to proceed to the next stage of certification testing. Boeing plans to begin 777X deliveries in 2027.
Meanwhile, the VC-25B Air Force One programme continues to place financial pressure on the company. Boeing recorded an additional $280 million loss on the project in the second quarter, bringing total losses since 2020 to approximately $3.2 billion. The company aims to deliver the new Air Force One aircraft to the U.S. Air Force in 2028.
Boeing secured 246 net new orders during the quarter. Its defence division generated $7.5 billion in revenue, although its operating margin was negative 0.2%.
