US Air Force C-17 Lands in Moscow as CIA Director’s Visit Emerges
A US Air Force Boeing C-17A Globemaster III military transport aircraft landed at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow. The aircraft had departed from the vicinity of Joint Base Andrews in the US on August 23, traveled to Riga, and subsequently proceeded to Moscow. While the purpose of the flight was not initially disclosed, US diplomatic vehicles were seen in Moscow following the aircraft’s arrival.
According to new information, CIA Director John Ratcliffe reportedly made an unannounced visit to Moscow on the same day. Details regarding who Ratcliffe would meet with and the substance of the talks have not been disclosed. There is no official statement establishing a direct link between the C-17 flight and Ratcliffe’s visit.
Meanwhile, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov previously stated that he had no information regarding the C-17 and that no meetings with representatives of the US administration were scheduled at the Kremlin this week.
