Delta Cuts In-Flight Service on Short-Haul Flights

Delta Air Lines has decided to reduce onboard service on approximately 450 daily flights starting May 19.

Under the new policy, passengers traveling in economy class on flights shorter than around 560 kilometers will no longer receive any in-flight refreshments.

Previously, flights between approximately 400 and 800 kilometers offered an “express service,” including basic beverages such as coffee, tea, and water. This service has now been fully removed for shorter routes, including those frequently used by business travelers.

On the other hand, Delta announced that service levels will be upgraded on around 600 daily flights in the 560 to 800-kilometer range, transitioning from express service to a full beverage service, allowing more passengers to benefit from expanded onboard offerings.
