Airbus has signed an agreement to acquire the French cybersecurity company Quarkslab. Announced in Paris, the deal is seen as a key step in Airbus’ strategy to strengthen its “sovereign cybersecurity” capabilities, particularly in France and across Europe. The transaction is expected to be completed in 2026, subject to the necessary regulatory approvals.
François Lombard, Head of the Connected Intelligence unit at Airbus Defence and Space, stated that the acquisition will accelerate Airbus’ growth in the cyber domain and contribute to building a stronger digital defence structure in Europe. Fred Raynal, CEO and founder of Quarkslab, said that rejoining Airbus will help scale the company and address Europe’s need for stronger cybersecurity players.
Founded in 2011 with around 100 employees, Quarkslab develops solutions to protect critical infrastructure, data, and software against cyberattacks.
