Atlas Air Selects Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 Engines for Airbus A350F
Rolls-Royce has announced that U.S.-based cargo and logistics company Atlas Air Worldwide has ordered 40 Trent XWB-97 engines to power its Airbus A350F freighter aircraft. Under the agreement, the engines will power 20 Airbus A350F cargo aircraft that Atlas Air plans to acquire.
With this deal, Atlas Air becomes the first customer for the A350F program in the Americas. The order also marks the largest commitment to date for the A350F equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB-97 engines.
The engines will also be supported under Rolls-Royce’s comprehensive TotalCare service, which includes maintenance and engine health monitoring. The system is designed to continuously track engine performance and optimize maintenance costs.
Atlas Air Worldwide CEO Michael Steen stated that the agreement is part of the company’s strategy to build a modern and efficient wide-body fleet that will support its global cargo operations. The airline plans to begin adding Airbus A350F aircraft to its fleet starting in 2029.
