Saudi Arabia announced that four unmanned aerial vehicles entering its airspace were destroyed by air defense systems. The drones were reportedly intercepted while heading toward the Shaybah Oil Field in the Rub’ al Khali desert. Authorities also stated that two additional drones believed to be targeting areas north of Riyadh were neutralized.
As military tensions continue to escalate in the region, Iran announced that it had launched a new missile attack against Israel and U.S. bases in the region as part of what it calls “Operation True Promise-4.” Iranian military officials said the attacks would continue to intensify, while the Israeli military confirmed that air defense systems had been activated to intercept missiles launched from Iran. The latest attack was described as the ninth wave of retaliatory strikes carried out in recent days.
The rising tensions have also triggered diplomatic measures. The U.S. State Department ordered non-essential embassy staff and their families in Saudi Arabia to leave the country due to security concerns.
