LCA Tejas Crashes in India, Pilot Survives

An HAL Tejas light combat aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force crashed during the landing phase following a training sortie in New Delhi. The pilot successfully ejected and survived the incident, authorities confirmed.
According to local sources, the aircraft encountered a yet-to-be-determined technical malfunction while on final approach after completing its training mission. Security measures were immediately implemented in the area, and an official investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the crash.
This marks the third serious incident involving the Tejas platform in recent years. In 2024, a Tejas aircraft crashed during a routine sortie in Rajasthan. In 2025, another accident occurred during an airshow in Dubai, resulting in the death of the pilot.
Developed domestically and manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the Tejas is a cornerstone of India’s indigenous fighter aircraft program. With multiple block configurations currently in service, the platform plays a critical role in the modernization efforts of the Indian Air Force.
The exact cause of the latest accident will be clarified following the technical investigation.
