Airbus announced that 2026 has begun in a tough environment where global trade tensions, engine supply delays, production issues, and potential tariff risks are all taking effect at the same time. Despite rising aircraft demand, the company is struggling with these pressures to maintain operational and financial stability.
CEO Guillaume Faury stated that U.S.–China tensions and tariff risks are having serious logistical and financial impacts, while emphasizing that 2025 results were strong despite all the challenges.
Engine supply delays are slowing production, and due to the Pratt & Whitney crisis, some aircraft cannot be delivered because they are waiting for engines. In addition, a software recall affecting the A320neo family became one of the largest in Airbus history, and the company aims to tighten its processes to prevent similar issues from happening again.
