Embraer Takes Full Control of EZAir Cabin Production

Embraer Brings EZAir In-House to Gain Full Control of Cabin Production

Embraer has taken a significant step in its vertical integration strategy for cabin manufacturing. The company announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Safran’s 50% stake in the EZAir joint venture, which operates in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico.

Once the deal is completed, Embraer will assume 100% control of the facility that produces complete cabin interiors for the E-Jets E1 and E2 families. The EZAir plant manufactures all major cabin components, including overhead bins, galleys, lavatories, ceiling and sidewall panels.

This move will allow Embraer to directly manage cabin engineering, production, and after-sales support processes. The company aims to reduce logistical risks, increase industrial integration, and adapt cabin layouts more quickly to airline requirements.

The full integration of EZAir into Embraer is seen as part of the manufacturer’s long-term strategy to strengthen control over critical aircraft components. Cabin design and configuration are becoming increasingly important competitive factors, especially in the regional jet segment.
