Transavia has announced that Paul Terstegge will become the company’s new CEO as of 1 February 2026. Terstegge will succeed Marcel de Nooijer, who is leaving the airline. Currently serving as Executive Vice President Inflight Services at KLM, Terstegge brings extensive commercial, operational, and strategic experience in aviation, aiming to strengthen the course Transavia has set in recent years.
With this appointment, Transavia seeks to accelerate its controlled growth plans, expand its European network, and advance toward a quieter and more environmentally friendly fleet. The airline also aims to continuously improve the passenger experience, build a strong and predictable operation, and develop a business model that is ready for the coming years.
Jenny Elissen, Chair of Transavia’s Supervisory Board, said, “We are pleased to welcome Paul to Transavia. His broad national and international experience is essential for the next phase of our company. His open and approachable leadership style aligns well with our colleagues and the direction we aim to follow in the years ahead.”
Regarding his new role at Transavia, Terstegge said, “What immediately struck me when I joined the company was the openness of the working culture. Even without knowing everyone yet, it is clear how much energy flows through the organization. I look forward to making smart decisions together, creating room for innovation, and continuing to provide a pleasant and affordable travel experience for everyone who flies with us.”
