Delta Passenger Sues Airline After Hot Coffee Spill

According to an exclusive report by the New York Post, 63-year-old Frank Morello has filed a lawsuit against Delta Air Lines, claiming that a flight attendant spilled hot coffee on him during an October 2025 flight from Puerto Rico to New York JFK.

The lawsuit, filed in Queens Supreme Court, alleges that Morello, who was returning from a vacation in Puerto Rico, suffered severe burns and blistering on his right leg, leaving permanent scarring. His attorney, Michael G. LoRusso, said the coffee was excessively hot and claimed Morello did not receive any treatment until the aircraft landed at JFK.

Morello is seeking unspecified damages from Delta. The airline had not responded to the New York Post’s request for comment at the time of publication.
