Greek Air Force F-4 Phantom Crashes

A two-seat F-4 Phantom II fighter jet belonging to the Hellenic Air Force crashed during a demonstration flight as part of Athens Flying Week 2026 at Tanagra Air Base. A fire broke out in the area following the crash, and fire and medical crews were dispatched to the scene.
The incident occurred in front of thousands of spectators. There has not yet been any official confirmation regarding the condition of the two crew members on board or whether they were able to eject from the aircraft.
Greek Defence Minister Nikos Dendias was reportedly returning to Athens after cutting short his programme in Thessaloniki following the crash.
