Trump Offers $1000 and Free Flight to Undocumented Migrants Who Leave Voluntarily

The Trump administration has launched a new initiative encouraging undocumented immigrants in the U.S. to voluntarily return to their home countries. The program offers $1,000 in cash and covers travel expenses for those who choose to leave on their own.

Migrants can apply through the CBP Home mobile app to participate in the program, which also removes them from the priority list for detention and deportation.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that this approach is safer, more secure, and more cost-effective compared to forced deportation. According to department data, detaining and deporting a migrant typically costs around $17,000, while the voluntary return program aims to significantly reduce these expenses.
