Air Astana Launches High-Speed Wi-Fi Service on Its A321LR Fleet

Air Astana has begun equipping its Airbus A321LR fleet with high-speed satellite internet connectivity. The project is being implemented in partnership with global satellite communications provider SES, with the systems installed by the airline’s own technical team at Air Astana’s maintenance facilities.

The first Airbus A321LR equipped with high-speed satellite Wi-Fi operated its inaugural flight with onboard internet connectivity on 29 October 2026, on the Almaty–Tashkent route. The project, supported by Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development and Ministry of Transport, also involved efforts to establish the necessary regulatory framework for satellite internet connectivity on aircraft.

Under the new service, all passengers will enjoy complimentary internet access until 31 January 2027. Starting from 1 February 2027, free Wi-Fi will be available to Business Class passengers and Nomad Club Gold and Diamond members. All Nomad Club members will be able to use messaging services free of charge during flights, while other passengers will have the option to purchase internet packages.

Air Astana plans to gradually roll out high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity across its entire A321LR fleet throughout 2027.
