An easyJet Airbus A320, registered OE-IVS, was taxiing for departure from Milan Malpensa Airport to Prague when a power bank in a passenger’s carry-on baggage caught fire, causing smoke in the cabin. The aircraft was scheduled to operate Flight U23905 with 146 passengers on board.
After the pilots declared an emergency, the evacuation slides were deployed and passengers evacuated the aircraft. Two passengers sustained minor injuries during the evacuation, while all other passengers were reported to be in good condition.
