Turkish Airlines Flight Returns to Gate After Passenger Uses AI to Alter Boarding Pass for Business Class

A Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Izmir returned to its parking stand after a passenger used artificial intelligence to alter a mobile boarding pass in an attempt to travel in Business Class without a valid seat assignment.

According to information obtained by HavaSosyalMedya, the incident occurred on Turkish Airlines flight TK2326, when a passenger identified by the initials K.S., originally assigned a seat in row 23 of Economy Class, presented a modified mobile boarding pass showing a seat in row 4 of Business Class.

The discrepancy was discovered during onboard passenger counts, when cabin crew identified a mismatch between the number of passengers seated in Economy and Business Class.

Ground handling personnel launched an investigation to determine whether the discrepancy resulted from a system malfunction or human error.

The investigation established that the passenger had used artificial intelligence to modify the seat number displayed on the mobile boarding pass in an attempt to travel in Business Class.

Following the discovery, the aircraft returned to parking stand 301. An unruly passenger report was filed, and the passenger was removed from the aircraft.

According to information obtained by HavaSosyalMedya, the passenger is expected to be blacklisted by Turkish Airlines and face legal proceedings over document forgery.

The incident raises questions about the potential misuse of AI-generated or AI-manipulated travel documents and the importance of boarding pass verification procedures.
