SCAT Expands Boeing 737-9 Order

Kazakhstan-based SCAT Airlines has announced an expansion of its Boeing 737-9 order as part of its narrow-body fleet growth strategy.

The airline placed an additional firm order for five Boeing 737-9 aircraft and converted five of its previously ordered seven Boeing 737-8 aircraft to the larger 737-9 variant.

SCAT President Vladimir Denisov stated that the conversion and new orders will increase capacity and support more stable scheduled operations as the airline expands its international network.

SCAT stands out as the first airline in Central Asia to adopt the Boeing 737 MAX family. Its current fleet includes nine 737-8s and five 737-9s, along with earlier-generation 737 aircraft.

With a capacity of around 220 passengers and a range of approximately 6,110 kilometers, the 737-9 provides greater operational flexibility for routes connecting Kazakhstan with Southeast Asia and Europe.
