Saudia Becomes First A321XLR Operator in the Middle East and Africa

Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier Saudia has taken delivery of its first Airbus A321XLR, becoming the first airline in the Middle East and Africa to add the aircraft type to its operations.

Powered by CFM International LEAP-1A engines, the aircraft is the first of 15 A321XLRs ordered by Saudia.

➡️ With a range of up to 4,700 nautical miles, the Airbus A321XLR will allow Saudia to launch longer-range international routes with a single-aisle aircraft. This means some operations that would traditionally require widebody aircraft can be performed with a more efficient single-aisle jet.

➡️ The delivered aircraft features 24 fully lie-flat Business Class seats and 120 Economy Class seats. All Business Class seats offer direct aisle access, while the aircraft also features the Airbus Airspace cabin concept. This concept aims to enhance the passenger experience with larger overhead bins, advanced lighting systems and one of the quietest cabins in its class.

As the newest member of the A320neo Family, the A321XLR delivers up to 30 percent lower fuel burn per seat compared to previous-generation aircraft. The A320 Family has received more than 19,900 orders from over 300 customers worldwide
