Plaza Premium Group Launches “Plaza Petit” Concept for Child Passengers

Plaza Premium Group (PPG) has announced its new “Plaza Petit” concept, which offers dedicated play and relaxation areas for children in selected airport lounges and transit hotels.

The Plaza Petit spaces, which are gradually entering service as of October, will initially welcome guests at PPG locations in Hong Kong International Airport, Toronto Pearson International Airport, London Gatwick, and London Heathrow airports. The concept is planned to be expanded to locations such as Dubai, Helsinki, Jakarta, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Muscat, Phnom Penh, and Rome in later stages.

Aiming to help families spend their airport waiting times more comfortably, the company has also signed a partnership with the global education organization Room to Read. The main focus areas of the concept, developed for children’s needs in the Plaza Petit areas, have been defined as follows:

  • Reading (Room to Read Partnership): Special story corners featuring age-appropriate and multilingual physical books, along with access to a digital library (Literacy Cloud) containing thousands of books.
  • Play and Discovery: Travel-themed activity sets, coloring pages, and destination stickers that encourage children to explore different cultures.
  • Food and Beverage: Balanced menus specially prepared for children, appropriate tableware, and baby food warming services.
  • Design and Comfort: Ergonomic seating areas suited for children, interactive bookshelves, and sustainable wooden furniture with rounded edges.

Plaza Premium Group Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) Mei Mei Song stated that they recognize the pressure it puts on families when children are in an unfamiliar airport environment. She noted that Plaza Petit will allow children to have an enjoyable time and enable parents to experience a more relaxed journey.

In connection with the project, it was stated that donation points have been placed in every Plaza Petit area, allowing passengers to contribute and support Room to Read’s child literacy and gender equality in education programs.
