Global Air Cargo Demand Increased by 4.4% in August

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that global air cargo demand increased by 4.4% in August 2026 compared with the same period last year. Demand for international operations rose by 5.3%, while global air cargo capacity decreased by 0.1%.

By region, North America recorded the strongest demand growth at 6.6%. Demand increased by 5.1% in Latin America and the Caribbean, 4.3% in Asia-Pacific, 4.1% in Europe, 3% in Africa, and 1% in the Middle East. IATA stated that strong demand and high load factors continued to support growth in the global air cargo market.
