easyJet Chief Operating Officer David Morgan has decided to step down from his executive role and return to flying as a pilot.
According to easyJet CEO Kenton Jarvis, Morgan will remain with the airline and continue serving as an active pilot. Jarvis noted that throughout his tenure as COO, Morgan continued to operate one flight per week to stay closely connected with the airline’s operations and frontline employees.
Succeeding Morgan as Chief Operating Officer will be Sophie Dekkers, who has spent 19 years at easyJet and most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer.
Following Dekkers’ appointment, Daniel Skjeldam will take over as Chief Commercial Officer. Skjeldam, who previously held senior roles at Norwegian Air Shuttle and brings more than 25 years of commercial experience, will assume the position on September 1.
