Delta Air Lines has denied social media claims suggesting the airline is planning large-scale layoffs affecting around 8% of its workforce.
Rumors of a major downsizing, particularly targeting the company’s information technology (IT) department, recently circulated through anonymous emails and Reddit posts.
Delta stated that its organizational structure is “regularly reviewed to align with future priorities,” while emphasizing that the number of affected employees is limited. Although online claims suggested that thousands of workers could lose their jobs, the airline firmly rejected reports of any broad restructuring or mass layoff plan.
