Bermuda-based BermudAir has become a new Airbus customer after placing an order for 10 A220-300 aircraft. The previously undisclosed order was officially announced during the Farnborough International Airshow 2026.
Configured with 135 seats in a three-class layout, the A220-300s will support BermudAir’s network expansion across Bermuda, the Caribbean, and North America. The new aircraft will enable the airline to launch more nonstop routes while providing greater operational flexibility.
According to Airbus, the A220 delivers up to a 25 percent reduction in fuel burn and CO2 emissions per seat compared with previous-generation aircraft. As of the end of June 2026, Airbus had delivered 526 A220s to more than 25 operators worldwide, with the aircraft’s total order backlog exceeding 1,100 units.
