Belavia Granted Permission to Purchase Aircraft and Parts Directly from Boeing

The U.S. Department of Commerce has authorised Belarusian national carrier Belavia to work directly with Boeing.
According to Belavia CEO Igor Cherginets, the airline will now be able to obtain spare parts, components and software directly for the Boeing aircraft in its fleet. The authorisation also allows Belavia to enter into negotiations with Boeing regarding the direct purchase of new aircraft.
Sanctions introduced by the United States in 2022 had severely restricted Belavia’s access to U.S.-manufactured aircraft and parts.
Following recent diplomatic contacts between Washington and Minsk, restrictions on Belavia have been gradually eased, enabling the airline to re-establish direct cooperation with Boeing.
