American Airlines Removes Trump’s Name From Flight Gate Displays

American Airlines has removed U.S. President Donald Trump’s name from gate displays for flights to West Palm Beach, Florida.

The airline previously displayed the destination as “Pres DJT, W Palm Beach” but has now reverted to “West Palm Beach, FL.” The airport was renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport in 2026, and its IATA code was changed from PBI to DJT.

Although the change attracted attention following the U.S. midterm elections, American Airlines clarified that the display update had actually been implemented on August 18, 2026. The airline indicated that the decision was not related to the election results.
